Walking And Reading Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Walking And Reading

Hail to thee! Each a mighty prop to old age,
Me retired, withdrawing, and unambitious:

Present back-ache should not become chronic
Unable to walk and exercise, increasing sugar.

Decade old diabetes mellitus of mine,
Should not become cause of blindness

I can’t imagine spending stationary time,
In darkening gloom, not able to read classics.
