Walking Barefoot Poem by Poetical Analysis

Walking Barefoot

As a child it made me feel beyond free, as though I was wild

As a youth it made me feel as strong as my ancestors'most sacred truth

As a father it made me feel one with the wonder of my daughter

As a long lost neighbor it makes me feel like I can save her

Now I need an excuse to kick off my shoes

Every justification is a clever rouse

The sensation, the touch, the feel

Help me believe my heart is real
