Walking The Desert Poem by Marilyn Lott

One day as I wandered
Along the desert floor
I felt His heavenly presence
My life changed forever more

So peaceful in His garden
Of dessert plants and rock
It gave me such a feeling
And I started to take stock

I thought about my life
And what I’d done till then
I thought about my future
My thoughts were quite a blend

I’d done good, I felt, in my life
Oh sure, I’d made mistakes
But I’d been thinking lately
Perhaps I needed a break

Now in this lovely desert
I realized that He
Had been there every moment
Helped paved this path for me

Contentment filled my being
Peace then filled my heart
God was right beside me
He had been there from the start!
