Walking With God Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Walking With God

Rain like tears in the clouds
makes me want to shout out loud.
I want to sing and dance in the rain;
I don't want any more of this pain.

I'm ready to end this madness
and find a cure for this sadness.
I feel like I've shot my wad;
I've got to start walking with God.

No trials and tribulation,
no more fighting temptation.
I'm letting Jesus take the wheel,
and He's going to help me heal.

I'm creating a rainbow of tears,
I just want to conquer my fears.
My soul needs a push and a prod;
I need to start walking with God.

I'm beginning to see the light,
and I'm not going to put up a fight.
I know God is hearing my cry,
and I'm certain that he's on my side.

It's not about money or fame,
and it's not about guilt or shame.
It's about feeling reverent and awed
now that I'm walking with God.
