Wandering Thoughts Poem by Kishore Asthana

Wandering Thoughts

*
Like a shadow
My day-dreams beckon
And bemused, I climb them to nowhere
While the companion of my heart
Waits for her love
*
Some nights I can reach out
And touch the stars
By the morn the stars are gone
And my spirit, too, still
Atleast for now
*
I walk through being
A long veranda, at sunset
Pillars of shadow, squares of sunshine
Life and death, which is which
I know no more
*
Dreams are over-rated
A fiction within fiction
Confused crutch of soppy songs
Nightmares are better,
Atleast they dare
To be themselves
