War Poem by marissa c baker

War

The morning is filled with smoke and ash
It just leaves one wondering how long the storm will last
Dust is also an enemy right now
It is killing our lungs and bringing us down
They swap anger and fear
Mothers come screaming with blood and tears
The surrounding ones never stop to notice
Where are the love ones who were always the closest
As there is no real reason for the outbreak of this war
You began questioning what it is that we are fighting for
They all say it is because of terrorist and the right to be free
If that is the case then why put others life in jeopardy
It becomes a numbness to the minds of many who once were tough
But when is it the right time to say enough is enough
Economy suffers like it did a while ago
But when will it end, who will be alive; who will arrive home…..
