War Again! Poem by John Ugolo Umah

Women cling babies
to the back with cotton
running and shouting

men with cutlass and guns
the epic men with powdered guns
chanting war songs again

women running with
flap flat and raised breast
like demented souls

men without arms running
with nakedness, shorts and shouts
flinging their frontals like dullards

children running after
and without their parents
crying death to us

it is war again
should we allow this happen
for war reduce our numbers...
