War And Famin Poem by Mary Juanice Johnson

War And Famin

City lights gleaming,
People left screaming
stop this madness,
tame this badness

Turn it good
not to sadness
for a better day
will come someday

War and shame
who will shoulder
the blame
who will feed
The starving child at your feet
who will sow the seeds
and reap the crop

When there is noone left
to care for the land
and the young left behind
for a wound left untreated
will fester and boil...
