War Thoughts Poem by Gunadi Widyanto

War Thoughts

Is there any logic in war?
They bid themselves blood in battlefield.
Oh, Lord, I pray every night. What for?

Disease is their business, so good.
Whole family they kill, nothing to yield.
Is there any logic in war?

They sent knights, so countless, to the wood,
only to entertain death at the killing field.
Oh, Lord, I pray for innocent lives taken. What for?

Serve your country, oh, good speech, so good.
Brothers kill brothers, lesson learned, nothing to yield.
Is there any logic in war?

For the sake of the root of all evil, not much, still good,
they walk blindfolded, only to find a minefield.
Oh, Lord, I pray every night. What for?

Listen to the prophet! Heaven is the battlefield, bullshit, so good.
It is our holy war, holy killing field!
Is there any logic in so called war?
Oh, Lord, I pray for innocent lives taken. What for? What for?
