Wasted Brilliance Poem by Melissa Nikolova

Wasted Brilliance

My New Legos.
They just keep piling up.
I have so many
That I could build myself a fort.
And I live within the house I’ve made entirely out of these,
These, my Writer’s Blocks.

Very clever use of metaphor...especially because we don't learn that it is as such till the last line, which makes it, in hindsight, a bit suspenseful. Also, I LOVE LEGOS! ! ! Those Danes and their brightly colored interlinkable toys...
