Watch Your Mouth! Poem by Winston Harding

Watch Your Mouth!

Rating: 5.0

To speak vile against another is wrong; in silence,
Or in small group is one thing, in public, another.
Being radical is courageous; yet
Being too radical is dangerous.
Being extremely radical is good when it
Is in line with the Creator's blessing.

Speak not robust insulting language
To a woman, or women of the world
Beleiving you are mighty.
You, a man, how naïve of you;
Living in self-righteousness?
Know now, woman is your mother,
Daughter, grandmother, sister.

Watch your language, same can build you,
Make you powerful, same will destroy you.
From your mouth comes bitter and sweet,
Now more bitter than sweet.
Your voice on the airway, the media alarm,
Such language early (Rush live) March 2012, need not be.

Wanting to be heard, say something good,
Or shut up! Train your mind, your mouth.
Try living a life of building people up,
Not tearing them down.
And a world will, in turn,
Celebrate your coming.
Be kind. Be caring!
You could be a leader of hope.
Watch your mouth!

Very profound in meaning, this poem gives a lot of insight to the eternal weight our words carry. I wrote a similar poem as this - Words Like Pebbles but your poem has more intensity. Great work!
