Watchin Poem by Jackie Jones

Watchin

Why do you watch, whisper and stare,
Why do you act like you just don’t care.
Lend me your penny and I’l make you a pound,
I’l still be here for you when you head hits the ground,
You can beat me and kick me and throw me about,
Let out your anger and I’l here you shout,
But if you treat me kindly and let me be free,
I’l fill your garden with roses and a fine oak tree.
From the cows in the meadow to the duck in the pond,
They hum their tune proudly and you may sing along,
Life is a journey with sunsets and storms,
And rivers and bridges all tangled and torn, .
So if you feel troubled rest by your tree,
Rise up your head and remember me,
Whisper your wishes on a passing star,
And love be yours forever no matter who you are,
When in the dead of the night all luck seems to be gone,
Lift your head proudly and hum your song,
For there are no more right answers than those that are wrong,
Nothing is as simple and plain as can be,
The waters flowing are careless and free,
Only time can predict what the future may hold,
So feel the breeze through the pages as your story unfolds
Carry you lantern and let it serve you well,
For time waits for no man and it soon be your bell,
Don’t waist a moment wading the sea,
Simply spread your wings and be blissful and free!
