Water that makes us
I see it fall from great heights,
From the clouds or off the edge of cliffs
To roll under our feet,
Giving or renewing life,
Water is life.
It announces its arrival,
With the sound of tip-tap or a roar,
Either admired or feared,
Notwithstanding the pain borne
During its descent;
It does not complain,
Yet, it evaporates.
Nevertheless,
I continue to wonder,
At the way, life collects its gains,
Only to squander.
