We Poem by Arya Sun

We

We were like yellow, red, blue
We were like a Rubik's cube
And every time they'd switch along our place
I'd rearrange the colors on your face

We were like the hundred acre woods.
Fly my kite across your tree bark
Tigger hop into my heart
Make it so that I need you to start

My race between you and my cocoon
Make me into dragonfly
Make it so I need your wings for sky
Make our world into moon.

Mix tapes into hopscotch
Take my hair for a lock
I will find you a garden key.
Please, take me as your Mary, Collin.

Skip your rocks across my feet
Jump your rope into my stream
I'll keep all your secrets for free
Whisper them to me.

I won't make you a sandwich,
But I will make you a snow globe
I'll take you with me on my school bus
If you break, you'll come out stardust

But you were never a dreamer.
You thought fairytales were for babies,
Cinderella was just a lady
Now you just think god is a maybe

I want to fix us.
I want to rearrange our rubik's cube.
I want our colors to ring true.
I want us yellow, red, blue.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Just a side note, this poem is meant to be spoken word, and it might be a little weird just reading it.

I'll let you make your own inferences, but, Mary and Collin are the main characters in the Secret Garden.
