We Are All Passing Like A Shadow Poem by Hebert Logerie

We Are All Passing Like A Shadow

We are all passing like a shadow
Like the clouds in the stygian sky
Today, we are all present
In a short time, we'll be absent
We are all travelers down here
Seeking fixed spots where happiness
Is permanent and eternal. In this life
We walk like demented ants
And run like lost lynxes on the plains
Our last stop remains vague and uncertain.

The routines are the same under the firmament
The gestures are the same, not really different
The rooster crows every morning and never forgets
To do so. We are tirelessly searching for peace
Which torments us. Man always disremembers
That he is a passenger who lives nowhere
Man is a visitor, since one of these days
The soul will leave the lifeless body homeless
To the most devastating and criminal worms
Dear friends, earth is not the safe and eternal place.
