We Deserve It Not Poem by Larry Bulot

We Deserve It Not

Rating: 5.0

I stumbled into your house oh Lord
broken and ashamed
searching for truth and love oh Lord
and found power in your name
I wondered if a man like me
after all I've said and done
could ever truly be set free
from the webs my life had spun
Jesus, i, m amazed
by the grace you give when we deserve it not
Jesus, i'm enflamed
by your Holy Spirit raging through my veins
so I gathered the fragments of my life
and laid them at your feet
and you took those filthy rags of mine
and you clothed me in your peace
now every day I wake with you
and a new song in my heart
I wonder how I made it through
all the years I was apart
Jesus, i, m amazed
by the grace you give when we deserve it not
Jesus, i'm enflamed
by your Holy Spirit raging through my veins
Jesus, i'm not afraid
because you've taken all the fear I had away
Jesus, i'll remain
until that glorious day I see you face to face.

I have a love for God through hearing him in the wind or observing nature and walking with him when I'm outside. This poem embarks the realisation how someone can be so distant, yet still seeking! Great job, Larry! Love it!
