We Held On Poem by Emma Woods

We Held On

Rating: 1.0

The rain fell hard as we kissed and touched in the streets
Our clothes clung to our skin as they became wet in the storm
The sky was black and vicious but in some sense comforting
My love for you is tangible and I shall never deny it
We allowed the malevolence of which surrounded us touch us
But it nurtued us and let us become one in our moment of passion
You said 'the only love I'll ever deny to you is the love for someone - else as it shall not be true'
And I kissed you and you held my hands in a firm but gentle grasp in your's
Above us hung a flickering srtet lamp and we heard the rustling of trees and tapping of rain
I told you my deep feelings and my everlasting love for you
You smiled and came closer to me while he storm was still storming
You looked deep into my eyes and told me of your true feelings for me as the rain fell onto the street and onto the two of us as we stand alone on an empty and abandoned road
