We Say That Black Lives Matter Poem by Hebert Logerie

We Say That Black Lives Matter

We say that black lives matter
As a kinesics, as a reminder
That the lives of Blacks
Are often left out in the sacks
In the bags, with the deadly ants
That show mercy for other lives
Except for the lives of our siblings
That are downgraded in the rings
Can't you hear the raucous chants?

Can't you hear the roaring cries?
Black people have feelings too
Black people are humans too
Black people are honest
Black people are the best
In everything that they do
Black people want justice
Black people want peace
Black lives matter too.

Black lives are not counted
Black lives are degraded
Black lives are discarded
Black lives are disregarded
Black lives are miscounted
Black people want justice
Black people want peace
Black lives matter too.
