We Want A War Poem by Deborah Loraine Kean

We Want A War

He stamps his feet, and drools
With anger, temper, righteousness
They won't agree, the fools
And, him, he will not bless
Their talk

He knows what they should do
What all the world should see
His empire must be made anew
So he and his are free
To rule

'I want a war' the gnome insists
The chimp shouts as he spits
He's made his little lists
Of those who took his wits
To hell

Cocaine will do that, man
And privilege, that too
He will because he can
He won't listen to you
Or me
