We Would Look Boring People Poem by Francis Duggan

We Would Look Boring People

We would look boring people if we all looked the same
As boring for that would seem a very proper name
Exactly the same colour of similar build and size
Without any variation on the colour of our hair and eyes.

We would be boring people if we all thought the same way
If we agreed on everything that others had to say
If everyone else's opinion not any different to our own
'Tis true that ignorance is bliss where knowledge is not known.

Variety is the spice of life so happens to be true
And that applies to everyone to me as well as you
If on everything we see eye to eye and on all things did agree
We all would seem so similar and how boring we would be.

If we all looked alike and thought along similar lines how boring we would seem
Consider the pebbles on the bed of the river or the stream
Their different shapes sizes and colours make them interesting that too applies to you and me
We look at life through different eyes and a different World we see.
