Wearing A Mask And Judged Poem by Randy McClave

Wearing A Mask And Judged

A couple months ago if I had worn a mask
Am I a dirty Muslim someone would ask,
They would had demanded for my mask to be removed
So, my color and religion could be denied or proved.
In banks and government buildings a person wasn't allowed in
If they wore clothing or a mask to cover their skin,
People wearing masks was a terror in their own belief
They would had thought them as a criminal or as a thief.
Many people didn't care to put their words or beliefs at risk
Maybe people thought and saw them only as a terrorist,
People were being judged because they covered their face
Even when masks were worn with dignity and grace.
People was in anger when a persons face couldn't be seen
Unto the mask wearers people were insulting, angry and mean,
Months ago people complained about others wearing masks
Now those who complained, wear masks do their tasks.
