Wedding Day Poem by Dani Kerr

Wedding Day

My mind wonders like a lost puppy
My heart beats like a steady drum
My breath is cool as a winter wind
My body is covered in a white lace dress

As I look into the mirror one more time
I grab my left hand, look at my bare ring finger
that wont be naked much longer.

I look at my perfectly makeup-ed face then
walk out the door. I go slowly outside
into the fresh spring air.
The scent of the flowers fill my nose.

I take my first step out onto the isle
my train follows my track.
Everyone looks at me, tears fill some eyes
I look up from the ground and see my
future life go by. I see him standing there
with a finger that soon wont be bare.

As I approach him, he takes my hands
while we say a final prayer before our
ring fingers soon become unbare

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I'm only 14 so I am not married. Just like my other poem I wrote this in history class, which is very boring. This poem is how I see a wedding day and what the bride feels. Please comment your opinion!

A nicely written poem of a future wedding day. Nice idea!
