Wedding Hat Poem by Jeannette Heywood

Wedding Hat

It's time to buy a hat!
The invitation is on the mat.

This time the millinery,
must be exemplary.

Pillar-box, wide brim or netting?
This hat they won't be forgetting!

At the front they'll read a sonnet.
I'll be listening in my bonnet.

Sporting my new chapeau,
I'll stand proudly with my beau.

I'll be wearing it with style,
when in my place, next to the aisle.
