Wednesday. Poem by mariam khan Farah Abdulahi

Wednesday.

Alhumdoliallah I’m a Muslim
I wake
I wash
I do what I need to do
I dance
I sing nasheeds
I check my E-Mails
Bismiah
I get ready to go to my English class
Bismilah with every thing I do
Every step I take
When English is finished I have a brew
Say my prayers before maths class
The day is cold with a chill in the air
I study hard
Trying my best
A busy day
The class is over
Out into the cold
Of to Stretford I trot
Shoe boxes to fetch
Bismilah with every step I take
Of I go Chorlton hear I come
Bread mix to get
Bismilah with every step
Now Whaley Range one last stop
A video to collect
Now as I stroll with my bags
Singing nasheeds
Stopping to pray
I’m on my way
Seven Sisters hear I come
Home at last Salaam dear cats
Time for dinner, Bismilah
One quick phone call
And check E-Mail’s
Computer homework ready to do
When I’m through I’ll have a brew
Time to pray
Math’s home work I’m ready for you
Now I’m through I’ll take a pew
Have a brew and crochet for you
As I make squares ready for baby nephew’s blanket
I sit I think D.I.Y. tomorrow
