Welcome To The Masquerade. Poem by angel lockheart

Welcome To The Masquerade.

We put on a mask to enter the world,
To be accepted in the lifelong dance,
Painted black and white to hide our colors,
Because that would be wrong, it’d make us unique.
Our dance cards get filled to an already established fate.
We twirl each dance by strings of a puppeteer
Directing each dip, each step of our lives,
But not one of us tries to cut our strings,
Acting out each line to stories that aren’t our own.
Welcome to the masquerade.
