Welcome Waves Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Welcome Waves

Welcome waves, welcome your
Lapping:
I, crazed by stress. to this beach
Wending
My little way:
And here would flow and
Drop my tears:
But too deep, too, too deep
The stress and craze lie in:
Pity
Pity need I, pray I
I wandered
Over thorns I wandered
That cut my feet blood dripping
But now the welcome waves induce
Sedation.
So often we need her
Yet so often blindly spurn her!
I
I not
I no.
Now
As from before I speak calm
Waves of Pity, pitying
Here on this little beach
Sedating:
That be, Pitying!
