Wells Of Ages Poem by George Samuel

Wells Of Ages

Hold, water!
Run between my fingers,
Sought an exit,
A ditch is it?
Dripping through the pit.

Save me a value,
Keep me new,
Transparent as brightness,
Found no clue,
Till overflowing fulness.

Be it fountain,
Make me a captain,
Stop the Egyptians,
In time for the crossover,
Many waters maneuver.

Where no gates shall tame,
Or tongues, can maim,
Rivers of Babylon,
Going on and on..
Springs from the stone.
