Wetness Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Wetness

Wetness

Is unlike when wet bed
-caused me shame

Now
-wetness is joyful, pleasant

The grass beneath leaves
-is painting; portrait of a child
-sleeping to play; though awake,

Game is to pretend for parents;
-getting kiss, hug, caress.

The fallen autumn leaves
-scattered and piles
-are brown; lost colours
-they shiver of fear
-as if have slandered

Clouds are mushrooms, lines
-as wrinkles of frown of sky
-they cover its forehead

Playful and nasty
-are breeze and the wind

If then I wetted bed in sleep
-afraid of barking dog in dream
-while racing to catch me
-hunt, bite, me
-now wetness is sweet and great

If then I left aunt's house
-to avoid facing shame
-today I
-want to sit for hours
-watching scenes and stage
-admire the actors

Lovely are the leaves on grass, wetted by drizzle
-and the dance of clouds; too near to ground
