What A Waste Of A Psychedelic Mind Poem by Frank DeFulgentis

What A Waste Of A Psychedelic Mind

the alarm went off
in dreamland
invading sun
makes the landscape
expand and
thoughts rush in
the future
begins

new morning
flawless
deevolution
no point in tripping
on the interplay
of yesterday

i am the focus
caught up
in biology
reflections in
coffee
the poetry
in the psychology

i was trapped
in time
living
to escape life
smoking tires
the shallow mass

straight
from the
subculture
this girl
makes an impact
red siren lipstick
talking endlessly
about shoes
a twist
in the plot
set off
a chain of events

when
the chemicals
took a hold
of the subjective
the amorous
body
behind the ego
came to life
she was
holding back
a shock wave

moreover
campus police
claim a
fire alarm
went off
which so far
the guy on
guitar
denies
and the girl
who wears no
underwear
swares
that's a lie
and lights a
cigarette
what's this drama?

it was another day
in the
neighborhood
one of many
evening skies
with the
pensive campus walk
phase of the virtue
new
insinuations
into
doorways of
desire

never
underestimate
the power
of suggestion
that meaning of life
question
the suspense
in the
momentum

it's a matter of
timing
is it not?
life is
presence
in the expanding
meaning
it was smooth
when i had
the caress of fate
the euphoric metaphor

ultimately
the glass
is already
broken
a day can
change
anything
as the
unexpected
unwinds
