What Does Love Do To You I Ask? Poem by Alex Retzlaff

What Does Love Do To You I Ask?

I endure pain all day long.
I grin at the sight of your face.
I sing a sad song just to break away.
The times i laughed.
The times i failed so aimlessly
You caught me.
You brought me back up.
And you most of all taught me.
You taught me wrong from right.
You kept an easy stride and a cheerful gleam in your eye.
You knew i had some fight in me.
Somewhere deep inside i fell short.
Somewhere deep inside you were there.
Somewhere deep inside you were my ten foot high fort.
You were the best when i was the worst.
You were so bright when i was dull.
I felt so coarse at one time.
Now i am feeling like a bull.
That is what love does to me.
What does it do to you i ask?
You respond it makes me free.
