What Gives Poem by Lorraine Curtis

What Gives

Today, a sad day here in New York city
Violence tears ours hearts and streets
Hatred for no reason,
And terror that inhibits speech.

Why? Why? Is the simple question that we all want the answer too,
How can we work, and enjoy our lives that we have been so accustomed too? When terrorists take our lives away from their direction of work and study.

Sadness, as we learn how to deal with these unfortunates, who continue to abound.
What will we do, we go on..on with our lives. We love, we travel and we do all the things we have grown to love..no answers to our questions, no reasons that will suffice! Just the lingering sadness, that we need to deal with- in this strife!

A day, a day ahead. A day, a day ahead..just look ahead, that 's what we do, in New York City- and Jersey too.
