What Happened To Me? Poem by Silence Dogood

What Happened To Me?

People look at me.
They see what I hide.
I play the part of ignorance.
And tell them it's all lies.

Thats the problem with a secret.
You can't help but show a sign.
Im a monster and a freak.
The modern frankenstein.

Covered up is my secret.
Hidden by a sleeve.
On the suface im no different.
No hint of misery.

You ask me if im okay.
If theres something wrong.
Never knowing that im not.
That the old me is gone.

Can you see who I once was?
Can you see how much I've changed?
Are you fine with losing me.
Or do you think im still the same?

Roll up my sleeve to uncover the truth.
I'll just have to do it more.
I need to die to feel the pain.
To cut down to the core.

You might not understand.
But what did you expect?
All the mistakes I've made.
And all my regrets.

I'm not the person I use to be.
I solve my problems in pain.
I lie and cover all the scars.
And act like im the same.

I just have one question.
Before I say goodbye.
Before I cut too deep.
And commit my suicide.

What happened to me?
