What I Am Poem by James Grengs

What I Am

Rating: 3.7

I stand,
Balanced on a cliff's edge-
The height, strangely, does not bother me.
I fall,
Endlessly, waiting for the bottom
Which doesn't come.
Love, life, hope, laughter, joy, peace.
Hate, death, despair, silence, sorrow, war.
All these, good and evil,
Evil and good,
Within me, battling.
I am alive,
Dead.
To those who care,
I am alive,
But to the world,
I am dead.
I am not
Normal,
Nor will I ever be.
I am myself,
Not who they want me to be,
Not who they are.
I am alone,
Bitterly, evilly alone.
I am yours,
If you will have me.
I am individual,
Me.
I am lost to my world,
Though my world itself is lost.
I am right,
And wrong,
Confused.
I am a darkness
In a world of light.
I am a despair
In a world of hope.
I am all things good,
And evil.
I am what I am.
I am me.
Accept it,
Reject it,
Hate it,
Love it,
Whatever.
That is
What I am.

Powerful indeed. I like the way you did these lines: Love, life, hope, laughter, joy, peace. Hate, death, despair, silence, sorrow, war. I like how you lined up the 'opposite' emotions respectively.
