What I'M Doing Now (1-21-08) Poem by Bobbie Jean Wright

What I'M Doing Now (1-21-08)

Rating: 4.0

Far beyond understanding
I love you...
three little words
that reveal all that I am
and yet you do not feel me
you cannot grasp it
you'll never understand them...
the words that I live for

and clinging to empty air
is becoming less fulfilling
than being hit by a train...
even that would have some outcome

I seem to have forgotten
the old me...
among other things...
and time is running away
with my life...
forgetting my voice.
You have filled everything
for so long now
that you are all I know.

I am learning again
taking chances...
whispering in the wind
that not so long ago
only blew in from the north.

Sometime soon...
the cold, winter storm
will have passed
and the sun will shine.

I don't know what I'll do without you
but it has to beat the hell
out of what I'm doing now.
