What I Miss Poem by Sam Fischer

What I Miss

The little things made us what we were,
The small times that we shared,
I remember most the laughs we had,
That showed us that we cared,
I miss that little dog of yours,
That greeted me like he was mine,
I miss that funny accent I hated,
That eventually made me shine,

The way you smell I still remember,
The way you touched your hair,
Those nights we spent simply talking together,
For me they were so rare,
I miss the way we stood side-by-side,
Sharing a lit smoke,
Holding each other in our arms,
Before it all went and broke,

I miss being around you when you laughed,
The way you really do,
Not the way you laugh at work each day,
It's not the real true you,
I miss you telling me I'm important,
The way I made you feel,
I miss the fact that what we had,
Is no longer real,

I dislike feeling hate from you,
Knowing you wish me dead,
Even thinking of being near to you,
Fills me full of dread,
I miss being the only one you told,
The way you really felt,
But still now the simple sight of you,
Causes my heart to melt.
