What I'Ve Learned Poem by Cati Walthall

What I'Ve Learned

Yes she taught me cello
And yeah she taught me some violin
Yeah she taught me all this stuff
And it went straight in my head
I used it
Became good
In fact, really awesome
But never stopped to think
How great this talent really was
I always thought of myself as low
And never good at a thing
But this year what she really taught me
Was I'm better than I think
I learned thanks to her
That these skills I excel in
Are true talents
Only given by God
and now when I think about it
I thank God for her talents
That she passed onto me

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I guess this is mainly a thank you poem in a way to the cello teacher I've had for the last 5 years... May 7th 2013 I won my very first trophy at the award concert, Just got me thinking about how if she never pushed me so hard, I wouldn't of practiced, and I would of never improved so much
