What I Want Poem by Trysta Due

People are always telling me,
'Trysta, you deserve better...'
But no one really sees,
What goes on when they're not around
Please just let me be.

All my life I've been told what to do
What to think and what to say,
Well, I'm sick of hearing it from you
I know how to take care of myself,
If only you knew.

I followed my heart like everyone said
But apparently it wasn't enough,
Sometimes I just wish I were dead
That's not going to change all that's happened,
So I just trust my heart and not my head.

What you want is in your heart
And you can't let anything keep that away from you,
If you do then you're just playing the part
Giving in to everything that was holding you back,
So why not just begin again at the start?
