What If I Told You I Really Was Trying?

What if I told you I really was trying?
Would that change anything?
Would you see me for who I am?
Would you support all my efforts?
Would you be happy with MY best?
Would you hold me if I needed you?
Would you help me if I asked?
What if I told you I really was trying?
Would you change your mind about me?
Would you change the way you parent?
Would you learn to love me, too?
What if I told you I really was trying?
Would I still be your daughter?
