What Is Life But A Journey Poem by Francis Duggan

What Is Life But A Journey

What is life but a journey through time that does end
Where everyone you meet does not become your friend
Where not every day for you is a happy day
Earthly Utopia from most people seem far away

Life's journey for some it is hilly and rough
They are born into the World for to do it tough
They live their lifetime as children of the lesser gods
For as long as they live they must battle the odds

The life journey for the privileged minority is easy all of the way
They do never know of a hungry day
Though most of them die of old age at the end
On their journey they are never short ofa friend

What is life but a journey that does end for all
Human beings and all other life forms from the great to the small
A journey that begins for us when we draw our first breath
That on some night or day does end for us in death.
