What Is Love? - Poem by Mary Ellis

What is love?
Is it that feeling I have when I talk to you?
Is it that feeling I have when I think about you?
Or is it something else?

Love, it’s such a strong word.
A word which ties two separate pieces into one.

Love is the feeling I have when we’re together,
Knowing how much I love you.
Love is what binds us together, forever, into
A world full of hate.

Maybe I'm wrong,
Maybe I'm right.
Maybe I'm crazy.
Maybe I'm sane.

All I know is that I want to please you.
All I know, is that I love you,
With my heart, mind, body, and soul.

And I don’t want that tie to break.
Even in the darkness of times,
When everything seems so hopeless.
