what is pain?

if you listen you will hear
look around and you will see
touch and you will feel
of the crulities that suround us.

pain is the cry of a mother
whose babys breath fails to come
pain is the tear of a girl
whose father will be no more
the anguished scream of a brother
whose sister has failed
and the grief of a daughter
not knowing the way to go.

pain is unnavoidable
pain is a sentance
it is somthing all will face

it is the speed of a bullet
shot randomly from a car
the whip of a knife
as it cuts a loved ones throat
and the silent tear of a girl
not known is her fate.

all we can do
is take advantige of the good,
and not dwell on the pain
that is sure to follow
