You Deserted Poem by Emma Emery

You Deserted

i trusted you
i took your hand
you led me into a world
i couldn't understand

and it was their
in the unfamiliar ground
what we knew we wanted
was what we thought we found

many had loved
and many had lost
but all had learned
that love costs

but still we stayed
lost in a land
where pain was unavadable
and failure a command

it was soon we found
that this marvelous hell
was not what we wanted
but was what befell

you where a cretin
the weakest of two
the one who in due time
deserted your crew

and when you ran
you left me behind
without a map
or memory in mind

it is where you left me
it is where i cry
no longer free
and no one by my side
