What Makes Me 'Tick' Poem by June FeirCruz

What Makes Me 'Tick'

Rating: 4.5

It doesn't seem such a long time ago
When I first met you
I was young and naive and you are already a man on the go

While I was leading a sheltered and protected life
You were already swimming with the biggest of sharks
And you even have them as omelettes for breakfast

Impossible as it may seem
You and I have met
Me, with my wide eyed innocence
You, with your sophisticated air

Before I knew it
I was swept off my feet
And at The Peninsula
You asked me 'What makes you tick'?
I said to myself 'what like a time bomb'?
This man is out of his mind if he thinks I'll explode.

But, oh dear, oh my
He meant 'what makes me special'?
And I wanted to say
'Your asking me out, made me feel special

Oh no, not to worry it didn't end there
At the end of the night, the deal was sealed
Against my better judgment
I had spent the night
And the rest of my life, was forever changed.
