What Matters - Poem by Julie Drost

What matters is the flowers
What’s important is the rain
What counts is all the hours.
What counts is all the pain.

What matters is the sunshine
What’s important is the heat
When I don’t know what is mine
When I feel so incomplete

What matters is the sky above,
the waves and wind, the sea.
What matters is the endless love
He gives to you and me.

What matters is the fight.
It’s important that we try.
If we keep Him in our sight,
what we need he will supply.

What matters is the sun
shining down from up above.
What matters is the One,
and his never ending love.
