What Might Have Been Poem by amar qamar

What Might Have Been

Give me a moment to explain.
Why these four words cause the most pain.
"What might have been"
The girl in the orange jacket, at college.
If only at that time, I had the courage.
That course that I could not take
So another decision I had to make
The awesome car which I did not buy.
The time i was fourteen and I nearly died
In that exam when I did not try.
That one time I should of lied.
The blond girl, with whom i did click.
The job I was offered and did not take.
When I self harmed and got so sick.
The car accident, when i almost did not brake.
Good and bad Friends made along the way.
Some long gone, a few who did stay.
The child that was never to be born.
Who we never got a chance to mourn.
Three times I got jumped by some guys.
The time my best mate at university suddenly dies.
If only I had a time machine.
Just to see what might have been.
If somethings happened and others not...

A great poem trying to imagine life with some events unhappen and happen which did and didn't. Soulful and taking big stock poetically. Kudos! ! Plz do read and comment your thoughts on my newest prose titled, " face veils/face masks same thing " as it fosters an understanding of the shared veiling practice btw east and west since history. I have received comments for it in my inbox though they don't show up under my poem yet.
