What My Ex Taught Poem by Randy McClave

What My Ex Taught

What my ex had taught
Was worse than any disease ever caught,
I thought that she loved and did care
But, she became a nightmare.
She taught me how to hurt and steal
And how not to ever help and heal,
She taught me how to hold a grudge
And how to use and judge.
She taught me how to scream and curse
And how to mistreat people at their worse,
She taught me how to tell a lie
While holding a tear in the eye.
She taught me how to be ruthless and witty
While using drama and pity,
She taught me how to take advantage of others
While thinking I had no sisters or brothers.
She taught me how to deceive
And how not in others to ever believe,
She taught me how to intimidate
And also how to use guilt and hate.
She taught me how to borrow and not return
And how to put salt on a person's burn,
She taught me promises not to keep
And those with broken hearts pretend to weep.
She taught me all about sexual control
And how to destroy the very soul,
She taught me all as I had stated above
But, never not once, did she taught me love.
