What Really Matters Poem by Amina Abbas

What Really Matters

I had my suspicions, but i still looked passed it
I knew all along, but i still let it go
I'm tired of fighting, I'm tired of arguing, i cant battle anymore
The thoughts overtake my mind and as each tear falls i feel sore
Is this what 'love' is really cut out to be?
If so i cant do it, because all i want is to be excepted for me
Its crazy how this one thing can make a person happy
But than again, this one thing can cause a person so much pain
Yes, love and relationships have their ups and downs
But why does this seem like a constant battle?
I'm trying, and trying, but i do not think that i could win
So many memories, so many ups, so many downs, so many years
But lately all there have been was so many tears
Even after all the good and bad experiences, its crazy how the heart Still only wants this one person
that is what you call love... true love... an everlasting love
I was once told that if you truly love someone, you will never really stop loving them... i agree
After all we have been through, i been here, I'm still here, and i always will be
Many may look at me like I'm crazy or dumb, but the truth is this ONE person means a lot to me
Yes, we have seen bad times BUT this one person makes me happy
...and in the end, i think that is what matters the most.
