'What's In A Number? '

Rating: 5.0

What's in a number?

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet; "
said Juliet to her Romeo…

But as for numbers
And dates
have a place on the chart of events

numbers surpass time
11.10.15 feels the same as 11.1.2020
one minuscule fraction

encompasses years and decades
each overlapping the other
cascading down the realm of Time

numbers…
associations…
attachments…

Synonyms?

What's in a number?

Dad's telephone number
00911725003788
standing for decades

suddenly changed
a typhoonic blow
to memories

the replacement
finds no place in heart
or mind

no telephone number exists now
there's an emptiness
a deathly silence

But the heart holds…
searching for consolation in Reason

finding none…
