What These Years Have Become

Rating: 5.0

Why do you let others alter who you are at heart?
And why do you continue to stray away from those who love you most?

Think hard about January.
Then look back on the 216 months before that one.
Then try taking me for granted.

This winter will be awkward and unusual-
The first of many.
You're the one to blame;
I don't foresee a change.

And if, by some force
We are together,
Don't fake this like it never turned away from good.

Present that uncloaked hatred
That you've been hiding.
I want the real deal, sweetheart,
Which requires the truth.
