What Will The Harvest Be? Poem by kofi sammy morrison

What Will The Harvest Be?

who wouldn't want to have the best life?
who wouldn't want to have the best woman for a wife?
who wouldn't want an end to sorrow?
who wouldn't want to always look forward to tomorrow?

but i ask myself, what will the harvest be?
oh i wish i had eyes that could see
ahead into the future
then i could plan better.

but i can't see beyond the horizon of the deep blue sea
i cant see beyond the shades of the beautiful green trees
oh i dont know what the harvest will be
but i believe what will be will be.

now i wish i were a seer, a powerful Shaman
and not this wretched hopeful man
who cant even see beyond this bend
yet is wishing for a happy end.

so, i'll take a dine
i'll drink all of life's sweet wine
i dont give a damn.
i've got no time.
